Who Qualifies for LAP-BAND® System Surgery?

• Patients with BMI>40
• Patients with BMI 35-40 with comorbidities (high blood pressure, diabetes, arthritis, reflux or sleep apnea)
• Patients between ages 18-65

Patients are currently not eligible if they fall into the following categories:

• Patients on chronic high doses of steroids
• Patients with Crohn's disease
• Patients with previous gastric bypass/stapling or nissen fundoplication
